Founder & CEO
Shev Rush founded SRPR in 2005. The agency was named one of the Top 5 small PR agencies in a 2008 survey of over 800 journalists, and Shev himself was named one of the Top 25 technology and business PR professionals in 2009. He has over 18 years of experience in a variety of marketing disciplines, and has worked with a variety of notable public and private companies. Prior to founding SRPR, Shev held executive roles in the marketing communications, Internet and financial services arena.
Shev is active in historical preservation and is an avid supporter of the Los Angeles Conservancy and the Palm Springs Modern Committee. He resides in Los Angeles.
Brenda Patterson has more than 10 years of marketing and public relations experience in the corporate, non-profit and agency arenas. Prior to joining SRPR, she was Director of Marketing for Brulant, one of the nation’s leading interactive marketing firms. In that role, she managed the company’s national public relations program, garnering media placements that included the Wall Street Journal and Investor’s Business Daily, as well as other marketing and branding initiatives. She has also served as Corporate Communications Manager with Colliers International and Senior Marketing & Business Development Associate for Christian & Timbers.
Brenda has ghost-authored numerous articles, whitepapers and speeches, and writes a weekly online column for Examiner.com. She is based in Cleveland, Ohio.
Jay has more than 15 years of public relations and marketing experience in the areas of consumer, technology, business-to-business, and event production and publicity. With a focus on media relations, story development and strategic writing, he is passionate about working with the media and finding ways to get his clients in the press. Jay routinely makes placements across a wide range of high-level media outlets.
Jay has held senior positions with both public relations agencies and public companies, where he has developed extensive media contacts over the years. Jay’s diverse background working with a range of consumer, technology and professional services companies has resulted in his ability to find the right issues to drive client messaging in any market.
Publicist / Administrator
Kristi Lane started her PR career at SRPR in 2006 and has secured placements in a variety of media, including CNN, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Houston Chronicle, Dallas Morning News, AARP Magazine, and many others. She is responsible for managing client reporting, target media lists and journalist databases, and conducts ongoing media audits for clients.
Kristi received a B.A. in English, with an emphasis in creative writing, from Washburn University and is based in Kansas City.
Kevin is a seasoned marketing executive working with leading US and global brands, from consumer packaged goods to high tech, and is a long-time recovering mergers and acquisitions analyst doggedly focused on ROI.
With deep roots in both the traditional and digital agency worlds, Kevin has led advertising agencies, global accounts and client brands into truly integrated marketing programs that drive results. Kevin’s a firm believer that the future of successful marketing strategy is a blend of the best from the traditional advertising model and emerging digital marketing best practices.

Anita Buchanan has 30 years of experience in media relations, marketing and investor relations, helping start-ups and multinationals tell their unique stories to media, customers, investors and employees. She has long-standing relationships with reporters and with clients of all sizes in technology, financial services, healthcare, executive search and renewable energy.
Anita specializes in finding the issues and trends that executives can shape to make them thought leaders for their industry. Her clients appear regularly in top-tier business press, as well as the trade publications, blogs and other media outlets most important to their industry.
As a vice president and director in technology companies, Anita led corporate marketing teams, designed multi-million dollar advertising and PR campaigns, supported global sales staffs and served as corporate liaison to investors. She combines corporate and PR agency experience to understand a company’s business and find the right fit for its message in the media outlets that matter.
Freddy J. Nager is a creative director, marketing strategist and business professor with over two decades of experience, including 17 in new media development. His expertise includes social media, branding, and content strategy. Freddy previously held lead creative positions at MCA Records, Saatchi & Saatchi and Magnet Interactive, and worked with such clients as Toyota, National Lampoon, Nissan & Infiniti, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, the NFL on Fox and numerous startups. Freddy currently runs the creative strategy agency Atomic Tango LLC, and he teaches marketing through Antioch University L.A., UCLA Extension and the University of Wales/RKC MBA program. He holds a BA from Harvard University and an MBA from the University of Southern California.
